🢒 Theft Deterrent Module Replacement
Removal Procedure
Disable the SIR. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to
Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Remove the theft deterrent control module wiring harness from the steering column harness.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the theft deterrent control module.
If, necessary, disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition lock cylinder case.
Remove the theft deterrent module (2) away from the lock cylinder housing (1).
Installation Procedure
Install the theft deterrent control module (2), onto the lock cylinder housing (1) .
Install the theft deterrent control module wiring harness to the steering column harness.
If, necessary, disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition lock cylinder case.
Connect the electrical connector.
Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to
Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Enable the SIR system. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
Program the new theft deterrent control module. Refer to
Programming Theft Deterrent System Components
.
