DIESEL RADIATOR HOSE SHIELD CHANGE INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-84 C/K Models With 6.2L Diesel Engine

On 6.2L Diesel equipped C/K Models, the upper radiator hose has a shield to protect it from the A/C belt. In July of 1983, the part number was changed to 14071983 with a shield length, of 57mm (2.25 inches). The old clamp part number 14045655 had a shield length of only 38mm (1.50 inches).

Should you encounter vehicles where the belt is contacting the hose, make sure the new clamp is installed and adjusted properly.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
