Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 276537  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retainer screw.
  2. Remove the trim panel from the retainers.
  3. On diesel engines only, remove the powertrain control module (PCM). Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls.
  4. Roll back the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  5. Object Number: 669159  Size: MH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the recirculation actuator (19).
  7. Remove the screws from the recirculation actuator (19).
  8. Remove the recirculation actuator (19) from the module.
  9. Remove the clips holding the air distribution case to the heater case.
  10. Remove the recirculation door from the module case.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the recirculation door to the module case.

  2. Object Number: 669159  Size: MH
  3. Install the clips holding the air distribution case to the heater case.
  4. Install the recirculation actuator (19) to the module.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screws to the recirculation actuator (19).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the recirculation actuator screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connector to the recirculation actuator (19).
  9. Roll forward the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. On diesel engines only, install the powertrain control module (PCM). Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls.

  12. Install the trim panel to the retainers.
  13. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   14. Install the retainer screw.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
