Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 258002 Size: SH
  1. Use the J 26549-E in order to install the expansion tube (3) into the condenser outlet pipe (2).
  2. Install the new O-ring seal.
  3. 2.1. Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2.2. Insert the short screen end of the new orifice into the evaporator tube.
  4. Install the evaporator tube to the condenser.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the evaporator tube nut to the condenser.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  8. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  9. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Leak test the fitting(s) of the repaired or reinstalled component using the J 39400-A .
