Radiator Replacement L18

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 696691  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the mass airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector (4).
  2. Disengage the cover clips (2).
  3. Remove the air cleaner cover (1).

  5. Loosen the air intake duct clamp at the throttle body.
  6. Remove the air intake duct and air cleaner element.
  7. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  8. Object Number: 746709  Size: SH
  9. Reposition the reservoir hose clamp from the radiator.
  10. Remove the reservoir hose from the radiator.

  11. Object Number: 746710  Size: SH
  12. Reposition the inlet hose clamp (3) from the radiator.
  13. Reposition the outlet hose clamp (4) from the radiator.
  14. Remove the inlet (2) hose from the radiator.
  15. Remove the outlet (5) hose from the radiator.

  17. Remove the hose clip from the fan shroud.
  18. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
  19. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  20. Object Number: 746717  Size: SH
  21. Remove the radiator mounting bracket bolts and brackets.
  22. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 746717  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the radiator mounting brackets and bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  7. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.
  8. Install the hose clip to the fan shroud.

  9. Object Number: 746710  Size: SH
  10. Install the inlet (2) and outlet (5) hoses to the radiator.
  11. Position the outlet hose clamp (4) at the radiator.
  12. Position the inlet hose clamp (3) at the radiator.

  14. Install the inlet hose to the radiator.
  15. Position the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator.
  16. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  17. Object Number: 745585  Size: SH
  18. Install the air intake duct and air cleaner element.
  19. Tighten the air intake duct clamp at the throttle body.
  20. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  21. Install the air cleaner cover (1).
  22. Engage the cover clips (2).
  23. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (4).

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the mass airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector (4).
  2. Disengage the cover clips (2).
  3. Remove the air cleaner cover (1).

  10. Remove the reservoir hose from the radiator.

  12. Reposition the inlet hose clamp (3) from the radiator.
  13. Reposition the outlet hose clamp (4) from the radiator.
  14. Remove the outlet (5) hose from the radiator.
  15. Remove the inlet (2) hose from the radiator.

  17. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator.
  18. Remove the hose clip from the fan shroud.
  19. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
  20. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  22. Remove the radiator mounting bracket bolts and brackets.
  23. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator.

  9. Install the hose clip to the fan shroud.

  11. Install the inlet (2) hose to the radiator.
  12. Install the outlet (5) hose to the radiator.
  13. Position the outlet hose clamp (4) to the radiator.
  14. Position the inlet hose clamp (3) to the radiator.

  16. Install the reservoir hose to the radiator.
  17. Position the reservoir hose clamp to the radiator.
  18. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  19. Object Number: 745585  Size: SH
  20. Install the air intake duct and air cleaner element.
  21. Tighten the air intake duct clamp at the throttle body.
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  23. Install the air cleaner cover (1).
  24. Engage the cover clips (2).
  25. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (4).
