Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement L65

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 747725  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Loosen the exhaust manifold pipe clamp.
  3. Slide the exhaust manifold pipe clamp down the pipe.

  4. Object Number: 747810  Size: SH
  5. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe hanger bolts, if equipped.

  6. Object Number: 747726  Size: SH
  7. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe nuts.
  8. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold pipe gasket.
  9. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe.
  10. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold pipe clamp.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 747726  Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW exhaust manifold pipe clamp to the pipe.
  2. Install the exhaust manifold pipe.
  3. Install a NEW exhaust manifold pipe gasket.
  4. Install the exhaust manifold pipe nuts until snug.

  5. Object Number: 747810  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the exhaust manifold pipe hanger bolts, if equipped.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe hanger bolts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  8. Align the exhaust manifold pipe to the turbocharger.
  9. Position the exhaust manifold pipe clamp.
  10. Tighten

        • Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe clamp to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
        • Tighten the exhaust pipe nuts to 64 N·m (47 lb ft).
  11. Lower the vehicle.
