Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 790953  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle, if required. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Position a suitable container under the oil drain plug in order to catch the transmission fluid.
  3. Clean the area around the drain and fill plugs.
  4. Remove the oil fill plug (1).
  5. Remove the oil drain plug (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure that the fluid is completely drained.
  2. Wipe the area clean around the drain plug.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the oil drain plug.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil drain plug to 61 N·m (45 lb ft).

  6. Remove the drain pan.
  7. Install the oil fill plug (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil fill plug to 82 N·m (60 lb ft).

  9. Fill the transmission to the correct level, using the correct type fluid, refer to Lubrication Specifications .
  10. Lower the vehicle, if required.
