  1. Disconnect the low coolant indicator switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  3. Observe the lamp.

Does the lamp light?

Replace the low engine coolant level indicator switch.

Does the indicator lamp turn off?

System OK

  1. Backprobe the multifunction alarm module with a DMM from terminal B1 to B+.
  2. Measure the voltage.

Does the DMM register voltage more than the specified value?

1.0 V

Go to Step 4

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1478 (LT GRN) between the low engine coolant level indicator switch and the multifunction alarm module.

Does the indicator lamp turn off?

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
  2. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module.
  3. Observe the lamp.

Does the lamp remain lit?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) between the driver information center and the multifunction alarm module.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Replace the multifunction alarm module.
