Coolant Level Sensor Replacement LP4/L21

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the low coolant level sensor.

  2. Object Number: 602628  Size: SH
  3. Remove the low coolant low coolant level sensor (2) from the radiator.
  4. Catch any spilled coolant in a suitable container.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 602628  Size: SH
  1. Apply thread sealer to the threads of the new coolant low coolant level sensor (2).
  2. Install the low coolant level sensor (2) into the radiator.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the low coolant level sensor to 12.5 N·m (111 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connector to the low coolant level sensor.
  5. Fill the engine coolant to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 202045  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the probe.
  2. Caution: Before removing the low coolant probe, make sure the engine is cold and the pressure in the cooling system has been released. When removing the low coolant probe from the surge tank, use a drain pan to catch the fluid loss. Hot coolant can cause severe burns and personal injury.

  3. Unplug the low coolant probe from the surge tank.

Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a light coat of lubricant to the new coolant indicator probe.
  2. Insert the new coolant probe into the surge tank.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the coolant probe.
