Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 199017  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air inlet scoop.
  5. Remove the air charge cooler, if equipped.

  6. Object Number: 199021  Size: SH
  7. Remove the external engine oil cooler bracket, if equipped.
  8. Remove the radiator shutter, if equipped.
  9. Refer to Shutter Assembly Replacement .

  10. Remove the power steering cooler from the radiator lower mounting panel, if equipped.

  11. Object Number: 199001  Size: SH
  12. Remove the radiator side brace nuts and the washers from the radiator lower mounting panel.
  13. Remove the radiator side brace bolts from the cowl.

  14. Object Number: 198968  Size: SH
  15. Remove the cross member bolts that connect the radiator lower mounting panel to the frame.
  16. Remove the radiator lower mounting panel from the vehicle.
  17. Drill out the rivets from the radiator lower mounting panel side baffles.
  18. Remove the insulators from the radiator mounting panels.
  19. Remove the hood hinges from the radiator lower mounting panel. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.

Installation Procedure

  1. Rivet the baffles to the radiator lower mounting panel.
  2. Install a new set of insulators to the radiator mounting panels.
  3. Connect the hood hinges to the radiator lower mounting panel. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.

  4. Object Number: 198968  Size: SH
  5. Install the radiator lower mounting panel into the vehicle.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the cross member bolts of the radiator lower mounting panel-to-frame.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the cross member bolts of the radiator lower mounting panel-to-frame to 260 N·m (192 lb ft).

  9. Install the radiator side braces to the radiator lower mounting panel nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator lower mounting panel nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  11. Install the nuts that attach the radiator side brace to the cowl.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the cowl nuts 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  13. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator lower mounting panel, if equipped.
  14. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .

  15. Object Number: 199021  Size: SH
  16. Install the exhaust engine oil cooler bracket, if equipped.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil cooler bracket bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  18. Install the air conditioning condenser and the hoses, if equipped.
  19. Install the charge air cooler, if equipped.
  20. Install the radiator shutters, if equipped.
  21. Refer to Shutter Assembly Replacement .


    Object Number: 199017  Size: SH
  22. Install the air inlet scoop to the lower radiator mounting panel.
  23. Tighten
    Tighten the air inlet scoop nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  24. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.
