Route the accelerator control cable through
the accelerator control cable bracket (4).
Press the accelerator control cable tabs (1) into the accelerator
control bracket.
Ensure tangs expand and properly seat.
Install the engine accelerator control cable lug (3) to
the throttle body cam.
Install the cruise control cable (1).
Install the accelerator cam splash shield (2).
Install the accelerator cam splash shield retainers (1).
Install the cable (1) to the pedal
lever assembly, making sure tangs are fully expand and seated.
Slip the accelerator cable through slot in rod of the accelerator
pedal and install the retainer in rod, being sure it is seated.
Ensure the cable is completely seated in the throttle cam past
the retaining clips.
Important: Flexible components, i.e., hoses, wires, conduits, etc., must not be
routed within 50 mm (2.0 in) of moving parts of accelerator
linkage outboard of support unless routing is positively controlled.
Check for correct opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator
pedal. Make sure that the throttle valve reaches wide-open throttle position.
If the throttle valve does not, inspect for damaged or bent brackets and lever.
