Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 2.2L - L61

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp (8) from the cylinder head.
3. Remove the outlet hose from the cylinder head (10).
4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
5. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the surge tank pipe clamp (9).
6. Remove the outlet hose (10) from the surge tank pipe (7).
7. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp (11) from the radiator.
8. Remove the outlet hose (10) from the radiator.

1. Install the outlet hose (10) to the radiator.
2. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp (11) to the radiator.
3. Install the outlet hose (10) to the surge tank pipe (7).
4. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the surge tank pipe clamp (9).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the outlet hose to the cylinder head (10).
7. Use the J 38185 in order to position the outlet hose clamp (8) to the cylinder head.
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 2.4L - LD9

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition lower radiator hose clamp from the surge tank.
3. Remove lower radiator hose from surge tank.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



5. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) from the radiator pipe (3).
6. Remove the radiator outlet hose (1) from the radiator pipe (3).
7. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.

Notice: Make sure the reference marks on the hoses and the radiator are lined up. A twist on the hose would place strain on the radiator fitting which could cause the fitting to crack or break.

1. Install radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
2. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp to the radiator.
3. Install the radiator outlet hose (1) to the radiator pipe (3).



4. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) to the radiator pipe (3).
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Install the radiator outlet hose to the surge tank.
7. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp to the surge tank.
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 2.2L - LN2

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .



2. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
3. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
4. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the engine.
5. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the engine.
6. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose from the surge tank.
7. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the surge tank.

6. Use theJ 38185 in order to Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp to the radiator.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
