Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.

  2. Object Number: 414963  Size: SH
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the left front wheel and tire assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Remove the left front fender liners. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Position the following items in order to support the transaxle:
  7. • A block of wood
    • A jack stand

  8. Remove the transaxle mount through-bolt.

  9. Object Number: 626459  Size: SH
  10. Remove the transaxle to engine block bolts.
  11. Remove the front transaxle mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 626459  Size: SH
  1. Install the front transaxle mount.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front transaxle mount bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (60 lb ft).

  5. Install the front transaxle mount through-bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  7. Install the left front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  8. Install the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Remove the jack stand.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
