Removal Procedure

  1. Close the sunroof.
  2. Remove the sunroof opening trim lace (3). Refer to Sunroof Opening Trim Finish Lace Replacement .
  3. Remove the headlining trim finish panel. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. • Disconnect the sunroof control switch
    • Disconnect the dome lamp
  5. Disconnect the drain hose connections from the sunroof housing.
  6. Support the module when removing the bolts to prevent the module from falling.

  7. Remove the sunroof module bolts (2).
  8. Remove the sunroof module (1), by pulling the module downward at the rear mounting points to disconnect the snap in fasteners.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sunroof module (1), by aligning the locating holes in the front of the module to the locating pins off the roof.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the sunroof module bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sunroof module bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  5. Connect the drain hose connections to the sunroof housing.
  6. Install the headlining trim finish panel. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. • Connect the sunroof control switch
    • Connect the dome lamp
  8. Install the sunroof opening trim lace (3). Refer to Sunroof Opening Trim Finish Lace Replacement .
