For 1990-2009 cars only
- Using the rearview mirror mount as a guide, use a grease pencil in order to mark the outside of the windshield in order to identify the location of the rearview mirror mount.
- Using a razor blade placed flat against the windshield, remove any old adhesive from the repair area.
- Using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth, clean the repair area.
- Using Rearview Mirror Adhesive Kit GM P/N 1052369, apply the activator to the windshield repair area and to the rearview mirror mount.
- Allow the activator to dry for five minutes.
- Apply one drop of adhesive to the rearview mirror mount.
- Immediately apply the rearview mirror mount to the windshield.
- Firmly hold the mount in position for 1 minute.
- Attach the rearview mirror to the rearview mirror mount. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
Do not touch the mounting surface of the windshield or the rearview mirror mount after you apply the activator.
Align the mount with the location mark made previously on the windshield.
Allow the adhesive to set up for 15 minutes before you attach the rearview mirror.
