High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement Rear Window Panel Mounted

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 591209  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from inside the rear compartment.
  2. Disconnect the lamp sockets  (1) from the lamp assembly.
  3. Pull and twist the bulbs to remove from the sockets.
  4. Remove the rear window panel trim. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement in doors.
  5. Pull the lamp assembly  (2) forward to disengage it from the retaining slots (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 591209  Size: SH
  1. Install the lamp assembly  (2) by aligning the tabs (3) and pushing rearward.
  2. Install the rear window panel trim. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement in doors.
  3. Install the lamp sockets (1).
  4. Connect the electrical connector.

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from inside the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the retaining screws (1).
  3. Remove the assembly.
  4. Twist the lamp socket to remove.
  5. Pull the bulb to remove from the socket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 591078  Size: SH
  1. Install the lamp sockets.
  2. Install the lamp assembly.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the retaining screws (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N·m(18 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connector.

  1. Remove the retaining screws (1).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from inside the rear compartment.
  3. Remove the assembly.
  4. Twist the lamp socket to remove.
  5. Pull the bulb to remove from the socket.

  2. Install the lamp assembly.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector form inside the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the assembly retaining screws (1).
  3. Remove the assembly. The Z24 assembly does not have serviceable bulbs and must be replaced as a unit.
