Was A Diagnostic System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Turn the turn/hazard - headlamp switch assembly to the HEAD position.
3. Disconnect the license lamp connector.
4. Connect the test lamp between terminal A of the license lamp harness connector and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Connect the test lamp between terminal A and terminal B of the license lamp harness connector.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

(Pontiac coupe license lamps will always be on when ignition key is on.) Repair open in the Park Lamp Feed Circuit between Splice 9B and terminal A on license lamp connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is repair complete?

System OK

Replace the license bulb.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair the open in the Ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK
