Air Distributor Duct Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the air distribution duct screws.
  3. Move the duct to the left in order to disconnect from the right side duct.
  4. Remove the air distribution duct.
  5. Remove the right side air distribution duct:
  6. 5.1. Move the outlet of the duct towards you in order to release the lock tabs.
    5.2. Remove the duct through the braces.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the air distribution duct through the dash braces.
  2. Move the duct until the lock tabs lock in position.
  3. Install the air distribution duct and connect to the right side duct.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the air distribution duct screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the duct screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the IP trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
