Action

The front wheels are out of alignment.

Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.

The rack preload is misadjusted.

Adjust the rack preload to specification. Refer to Steering Gear Rack Bearing Preload Adjustment - Off Vehicle .

The spring is broken or sagging.

Repair the broken or sagging springs as needed. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.

The stabilizer shaft is loose.

Inspect and repair or replace the following components as necessary:

    • The stabilizer shaft insulators/clamps
    • The stabilizer shaft links

The struts are worn.

Replace the struts as needed. Refer to Strut Assembly Replacement in Front Suspension.

The tires are worn uneven.

  1. Inspect and perform the alignment as necessary. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.
  2. Replace the tires as needed. Refer to Tire Mounting and Dismounting in Tires and Wheels.
