The housing assembly is damaged.

Replace the housing assembly. Refer to Steering Column Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Column Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The automatic transmission shift lock control system is damaged.

Repair or replace the automatic transmission shift lock control as needed. Refer to one of the following procedures:

The park lock cable is not adjusted properly.

Adjust the park lock cable.
