The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) turns the ABS warning indicator ON during the IPC bulb check for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. If the EBCM detects a malfunction within the ABS it sends a Class 2 serial data message to the IPC in order to command the ABS warning indicator ON.
