Circuit Description

The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) turns the ABS warning indicator ON during the IPC bulb check for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. If the EBCM detects a malfunction within the ABS it sends a Class 2 serial data message to the IPC in order to command the ABS warning indicator ON.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, select Special Functions in Instrument Panel Cluster.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to command the instrument panel cluster indicators ON and OFF.
