Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: If the fuel pressure regulator is to be re-installed, inspect filter screen (2) for contamination. If contaminated remove and discard filter screen.
Important: Whenever there is not enough thread-lock material on the threads of reusable hardware, apply Loctite® 262 to ensure proper locking.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel pressure regulator bolt to 6 N·m 53 lb in.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel return line bolt to 12 N·m 106 lb in.
Tighten
Tighten fuel rail retaining bolts to 24 N·m 18 lb ft.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel feed pipe line nut to 30 N·m 22 lb ft.
Tighten
Tighten fuel line hold-down bolts to 12 N·m 106 lb in.
18.1. | Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for two seconds. |
18.2. | Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position for ten seconds. |
18.3. | Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. |
18.4. | Check for fuel leaks. |
