Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Hoist the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 102404  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hoses from the EVAP canister.

  4. Object Number: 102405  Size: SH
  5. Remove the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt.

  6. Object Number: 102409  Size: SH
  7. Remove the EVAP canister and retainer.

  8. Object Number: 102414  Size: SH

    Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.

  9. Remove the EVAP canister retainer from the canister.

Installation Procedure

  1. Snap the EVAP canister retainer onto the EVAP canister.

  2. Object Number: 102409  Size: SH
  3. Install the end of the EVAP canister into the tab on the body.

  4. Object Number: 102405  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt.
  6. Tighten
    EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  7. Connect the hoses to the EVAP canister.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
