WIRE PROTRUDES THRU SEAT BUN SUPPORT (NEW PAD ASSEMBLY)

Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where a seat bun support wire breaks and protrudes through the seat trim material.

To repair this condition, the seat bottom pad assembly should be replaced. To determine which part number pad assembly to order from GMSPO, remove the damaged pad assembly and read the part number from the bottom of the pad. The replacement part numbers are as follows:

Old Part Number New Part Number --------------- --------------- 20193994 replaced by 17961398 20477879 replaced by 17961399

Do NOT attempt to repair the damaged seat bottom pad support wire.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
