FULL DISC WHEEL COVER INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Model and Year: 1986-88 CHEVROLET CAPRIC

In order to address potential damage to full wheel covers, and to improve the installed appearance of the covers, especially during vehicle prep, the following installation procedure should be followed:

1. Hold the cover evenly against the rim and gradually start all the retention tabs at the same time.

2. Fully seat the cover flush to the rim flange by applying pressure gradually around the cover.

NOTICE: DO NOT FULLY SEAT THE COVER ON ONE SIDE AND THEM FORCE THE REST OF THE COVER ON. THIS DOES NOT ALLOW THE COVER RETENTION RING TO FULLY SEAT ON THE RIM, AND ALSO LEAVES GAPS BETWEEN THE COVER AND THE RIM FLANGE.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
