Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 296573 Size: SH
  1. Remove the throttle relaxer assembly splash cover.
  2. Remove the cable cam cover.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle relaxer assembly .
  4. Remove the retaining nuts that attach the throttle relaxer assembly to the bracket.

    5. Object Number: 213407 Size: MH
  5. Remove the cables (2), (3), and (5) from the relaxer assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 213407 Size: MH
  1. Install the cables (2), (3), and (5) to the relaxer assembly.

    2. Object Number: 213434 Size: SH
  2. Install the throttle relaxer assembly to the mounting bracket (3).

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the relaxer assembly retaining nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the relaxer assembly retaining nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connector to the throttle relaxer assembly .

    5. Important: The throttle relaxer assembly cables must always be adjusted each time it is removed and/or replaced to ensure optimum system performance.

  5. Adjust the throttle relaxer assembly. Refer to Throttle Relaxer Assembly Adjustment .

  6. Install the cable cam cover.
  7. Install the relaxer assembly splash cover.
