Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement AQ9
Removal Procedure
- Place protective tape over nearby trim and paint.
- Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket

- Remove the head restraint from the front bucket seat back. Refer
to
Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement

- Remove the seat back from the seat back cushion. Refer to
Front Seat Back Replacement
.
- Remove the seat back cover
screws (4) and the hog rings retainer (3) from the seat back
cover (5).
- Remove the cover (5) from the pad (2).
- Remove the pad (2) from the frame (1) if required.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat back pad (2) to the seat back frame (1)
if required.
- Install the cover (5) to the pad (2).
- Install the cover screws (4) and the hog ring retainers (3)
to the cover (5).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).
- Install the seat back to the seat back cushion. Refer to

- Install the head restraint to the front bucket seat back. Refer

- Install the front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Remove the protective tape from nearby trim and paint.
