Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement Z28 Fender Emblem

Tools Required

J 25070 Heat Gun

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 369038  Size: SH
  1. Mark the position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
  2. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070 .
  3. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
  4. Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  5. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the door panel using a plastic flat-bladed tool.
  6. Wash the fender with soapy water and wipe dry.
  7. Remove all traces of adhesive from the fender using a oil-free naptha or alcohol.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 369042  Size: SH

    Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the emblem/nameplate.

  1. Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
  2. Measure 51.5 mm (2.03 in) from the front edge of the door to the rear edge of the emblem/nameplate (1).
  3. Measure 32.0 mm (1.25 in) from the bottom edge of the emblem/nameplate (1) to the top edge of the molding (2).

  4. Object Number: 369038  Size: SH
  5. Align the emblem/nameplate to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 369045  Size: SH
  1. Mark the position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
  2. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070 .

  3. Measure 14.0 mm (0.55 in) from the top edge of the emblem (2) to the bottom edge of the molding (1).

  5. Align the emblem/nameplate to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

Removal Procedure

  1. Mark the position of the emblem/nameplate (1 or 2) with a length of masking tape.
  2. Heat the emblem/nameplate (1 or 2) using the J 25070 .
  3. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
  4. Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  5. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the rear end finish panel using a plastic flat-bladed tool.
  6. Wash the door with soapy water and wipe dry.
  7. Remove all traces of adhesive from the door using a oil-free naptha or alcohol.

  1. Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
  2. Measure 53.0 mm (2.09 in) from the front edge of the door to the front edge of the emblem (1).

  4. Align the emblem/nameplate (1 or 2) to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

  3. Measure 50.5 mm (2.0 in) from the top edge of the molding to the tope edge of the emblem/nameplate (1).

  5. Align the emblem/nameplate to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

  1. Mark the position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
  2. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070 .
  3. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
  4. Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  5. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the rear bumper fascia using a plastic, flat-bladed tool.
  6. Wash the rear fascia with soapy water and wipe dry.
  7. Remove all traces of adhesive from the fascia using oil-free naptha or alcohol.

    Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the emblem/nameplate.

  1. Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
  2. Measure 164.0 mm (6.46 in) from the outer edge of the tail lamp lens (3) to the edge of the emblem/nameplate (2).
  3. Measure 16.0 mm (0.63 in) from the bottom edge of the rear bumper fascia (1) to the bottom edge of the emblem/nameplate (2).

  4. Object Number: 369109  Size: SH
  5. Align the emblem/nameplate to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.
