Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement Z28 Fender Emblem
Tools Required
J 25070 Heat Gun
Removal Procedure
- Mark the position of the
emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
- Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070
.
- Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing
an emblem/name plate.
- Remove the emblem/nameplate from the door panel using a plastic flat-bladed
tool.
- Wash the fender with soapy water and wipe dry.
- Remove all traces of adhesive from the fender using a oil-free
naptha or alcohol.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the emblem/nameplate.
- Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
- Measure 51.5 mm (2.03 in) from the front edge of
the door to the rear edge of the emblem/nameplate (1).
- Measure 32.0 mm (1.25 in) from the bottom edge of
the emblem/nameplate (1) to the top edge of the molding (2).
- Align the emblem/nameplate
to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

Removal Procedure
- Mark the position of the
emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
- Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070

- Measure 40.0 mm (1.6 in) from the front edge of
the door to the front edge of the emblem/nameplate (2).
- Measure 14.0 mm (0.55 in) from the top edge of the
emblem (2) to the bottom edge of the molding (1).
- Align the emblem/nameplate
to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

Removal Procedure
- Mark the position of the
emblem/nameplate (1 or 2) with a length of masking tape.
- Heat the emblem/nameplate (1 or 2) using the J 25070
.
- Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing
an emblem/name plate.
- Remove the emblem/nameplate from the rear end finish panel using a plastic
flat-bladed tool.
- Wash the door with soapy water and wipe dry.
- Remove all traces of adhesive from the door using a oil-free naptha
or alcohol.

- Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
- Measure 53.0 mm (2.09 in) from the front edge of
the door to the front edge of the emblem (1).
- Align the emblem/nameplate
(1 or 2) to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

- Measure 50.5 mm (2.0 in) from the top edge of the
molding to the tope edge of the emblem/nameplate (1).
- Align the emblem/nameplate
to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.

flat-bladed tool.
- Wash the rear fascia with soapy water and wipe dry.
- Remove all traces of adhesive from the fascia using oil-free naptha
or alcohol.

Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the emblem/nameplate.
- Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
- Measure 164.0 mm (6.46 in) from the outer edge of
the tail lamp lens (3) to the edge of the emblem/nameplate (2).
- Measure 16.0 mm (0.63 in) from the bottom edge of
the rear bumper fascia (1) to the bottom edge of the emblem/nameplate
(2).
- Align the emblem/nameplate
to the tape guideline and press firmly in place.
