Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check?

Start the vehicle.

Does the engine oil pressure gauge read at an acceptable level?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor.
  2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the oil pressure sensor connector terminal A and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the engine oil pressure gauge read low pressure?

Go to Step 4

Check for and repair a poor connection at the engine oil pressure sensor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

--

Go to Step 8

Replace the engine oil pressure sensor. Refer to Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Test for and repair an open or a poor connection in circuit 31. Refer to Circuit Testing or Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair an open or a poor connection?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  2. Connect a fuse jumper between the oil pressure sensor connector terminal A and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the engine oil pressure gauge read low pressure?

  1. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the oil pressure sensor connector terminal A and terminal B. A and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Replace the engine oil pressure sensor. Refer to Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch Replacement .

Repair the open in circuit 451 between the oil pressure sensor and S110. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
