Remote CD Changer Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment
lift window panel.
- Remove the compact disc (CD) magazine from the CD player.
- Remove the CD changer
mounting nut (1).
- Disconnect the CD changer electrical connector (3).
- Remove the CD changer (2).
- Remove the bolts and the
brackets from the CD changer, as needed.
- If you will transport or ship the CD changer, reinstall the shipper
pin. Insert the pin into the top of the changer. Use tape in order to fix
the pin in place.
- If you install a new CD changer, remove the shipper pin. Cover
the hole with the supplied adhesive material.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the brackets and
the bolts to the CD changer, as needed.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the CD changer
(2).
- Connect the CD changer electrical connector (3).
- Position the outboard stud through the bracket hole.
- Position the outboard hole over the stud.
- Install the CD changer mounting nut (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nut (1) to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Install the CD magazine
to the CD changer.
- Close the rear compartment lift window panel.

Removal Procedure
- Open the trunk.
- Remove the compact disc (CD) magazine from the CD player.
- Remove the CD changer
mounting nut.
- Disconnect the CD changer electrical connector.
- Remove the CD changer.
- Remove the bolts and brackets
from the CD changer, as needed.
- If you will transport or ship the CD changer , reinstall the shipper
