Keyless Entry Antenna Replacement Japan Model Only

1. Remove the instrument panel knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster in Instrument Panel Gauges and Console.
2. Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable from the remote control door lock receiver.
3. Remove the right hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel - Right Hinge Pillar in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the plastic antenna coaxial cable retainer from the stud located behind the right hinge pillar trim panel.
5. Remove the plastic retainer from the antenna coaxial cable by removing the attaching tape.
6. Tie a three feet long string to the end of the antenna coaxial cable.
7. Remove the right windshield garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar in Interior Trim.
8. Remove the two antenna coaxial cable retainers from the windshield pillar.
9. Remove the plastic retainers from the antenna coaxial cable by removing the attaching tape.

Important: Do not pull the entire length of the string out of the instrument panel. The string will be use to pull the new antenna coaxial cable back through the instrument panel.

10. Carefully pull the entire antenna coaxial cable out of the instrument panel from the windshield pillar.

It may be necessary to guide the electrical connector end of the antenna coaxial cable through the instrument panel from underneath the instrument panel.

11. Untie the string from the antenna coaxial cable.

1. Tie a the string to the receiver end of the new antenna coaxial cable.
2. Carefully pull the antenna coaxial cable into the instrument panel.

It may be necessary to guide the electrical connector end of the antenna coaxial cable through the instrument panel from under the instrument panel.

3. Untie the string from the new antenna coaxial cable.
4. Install the plastic retainers to the antenna coaxial cable using tape.
5. Install the two antenna coaxial cable retainers to the windshield pillar.
6. Install the right windshield garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar in Interior Trim.
7. install the plastic retainer to the antenna coaxial cable using tape.
8. Install the antenna coaxial cable retainer to the stud located behind the right hinge pillar trim panel.
9. Install the right hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel - Right Hinge Pillar in Interior Trim.
10. Connect the antenna coaxial cable to the remote control door lock receiver.
11. Install the instrument panel knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster in Instrument Panel Gauges and Console.
12. Test the operation of the system.
