Subject: | Revised Cruise Control Inoperative/Malfunctioning Diagnostic Information |
Models: | 2001-2002 Chevrolet Blazer, S-10 |
This bulletin is being issued to revise the Cruise Control Inoperative/Malfunction diagnostic information in the Cruise Control sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.
The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.
To avoid misdiagnosis, inspect for the following:
• | Proper adjustment of the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment. |
• | Proper operation of brake lamps. Refer to Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation in Lighting Systems. |
• | Proper operation of the clutch system, if equipped with a manual transmission. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Description in Clutch. |
• | The throttle linkage is not binding. |
• | The vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h (25 mph). |
• | The system voltage is within 9-16 volts. |
Electromagnetic interference on the vehicle speed sensor signal circuit may cause erratic cruise control operation.
