Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle with suitable safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the brace to frame bolts.
  3. Remove the bracket to frame bolts.
  4. Remove the bumper from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the brace to bumper nuts.

  6. Object Number: 316186  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bracket to bumper bolts and nuts.
  8. Remove the bracket from the bumper.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 316186  Size: SH
  1. Install the bracket to the bumper.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bracket to bumper bolts and nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket to bumper bolts and nuts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  5. Install the brace to the bumper.
  6. Install the brace to bumper nuts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the brace to bumper nuts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  8. Install the bumper to the vehicle.
  9. Install the bracket to frame bolts and nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket to frame bolts and nuts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  11. Install the brace to frame bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the brace to frame bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  13. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information .
