Removal Procedure

  1. Close the sunroof.
  2. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the drain hose connections from the sunroof housing.

  4. Object Number: 280689  Size: MH
  5. With an assistant, support the module when removing the bolts in order to prevent the module from falling.
  6. Remove the sunroof module bolts (2).
  7. Squeeze the nylon fasteners (located at the rear of the module) together and push up to disengage these fasteners.
  8. Remove the sunroof module (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 280689  Size: MH
  1. With an assistant, position the sunroof module (1) to the roof. Align the locating holes in the front of the module to the locating pins off the roof.
  2. Press up at the rear of the module to engage the nylon fasteners.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the sunroof module bolts (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the sunroof module bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  6. Connect the drain hose connections to the sunroof housing.
  7. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
