Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1247931 Size: SH
  1. Raise the seat to the full up position.
  2. Remove the seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement.
  3. Remove the finish panel. Refer to Driver Seat Outer Finish Panel Replacement or to Passenger Seat Outer Finish Panel Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 1335205 Size: SH
  4. Remove the seat cushion cover. Refer to Driver Seat Cushion Cover Replacement or to Passenger Seat Cushion Cover Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 71219 Size: SH
  5. Remove the hinge pin nuts and the hinge pins.
  6. Lay the seatback down.

    7. Object Number: 71217 Size: SH
  7. Remove the seat from the adjuster attaching screws.

    8. Object Number: 1289078 Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws attaching the recliner mechanism to the seat frame.
  9. Remove the recliner mechanism.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1289078 Size: SH

    Note: Do not lubricate the seatback recliner mechanism.

  1. Install the recliner mechanism to the seat frame.

    2. Object Number: 71217 Size: SH
  2. Install the seat adjusters to the seat.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Apply Loctite™ 271 to the bolts and secure the adjuster to the seat and tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 71219 Size: SH

    Note: Use a tread locking compound on the hinge bolts.

  4. Install the hinge bolts, seatback release cables, and nuts and tighten to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

    5. Object Number: 1335205 Size: SH
  5. Install the seat cushion cover. Refer to Driver Seat Cushion Cover Replacement or to Passenger Seat Cushion Cover Replacement.
  6. Install the finish panel. Refer to Driver Seat Outer Finish Panel Replacement or to Passenger Seat Outer Finish Panel Replacement.
  7. Install the seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement.
