HARSH 3-4 UPSHIFT CONDITION WITH HT4100 & THM 325-4L

MODELS AFFECTED: 1984 ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES

Some 1984 Eldorados and Sevilles equipped with HT4100 engines and THM 325-4L transmissions built prior to serial numbers 84 AJ 84686 or 84 AE 4838 (refer to Figure 1) may exhibit a condition of harsh shift feel, or bump, during a 3-4 upshift. To fix this condition, calibration changes were made to the control valve assembly, spacer plate and associated gaskets; and a 3-4 accumulator spring was added.

To repair a harsh 3-4 upshift condition on transmissions built prior to the listed serial numbers, install the following parts:

(1)Each gasket packaged separately, not available in kit form.

(2)Position spring between 3-4 accumulator piston and housing (refer to Figure 4).

For warranty purposes, use labor Operation No. K6560 at 0.7 hour.
