Shift Indicator Bulb Replacement

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that the shift indicator bulb is inoperative.

Some dealers are replacing the entire shifter assembly in order to replace an inoperative bulb. Instead only the bulb should be replaced. Replace the shift indicator bulb with P/N 88967341. This bulb is not currently shown in the Parts Illustration catalog. The bulb is listed as an Indicator in catalog group 4020.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
