Models: | 2006 Cadillac STS V-series |
equipped with 4.4L V8 (RPO LC3 - VIN D) engine |
Attention: | An involved vehicle identification (VIN) list is contained in the Administrative Message (U.S.) or Dealer Communication (Canada). If any of these vehicles are still in your inventory, perform this repair as soon as possible but no later than April 30, 2006, at which time this bulletin will expire. |
**** This Inventory Upgrade is in effect until April 30, 2006. ****
The production routing of the post catalytic converter heated oxygen sensor wire harness may permit contact between the sensor wire harness and shift linkage rod. This may result in wear of the wire harness sleeve.
Dealers are to re-route the post catalytic converter heated oxygen sensor wire harness away from the shift linkage rod and install a wire harness clip.
Perform this service procedure on vehicles in dealer inventory that are listed on the attached VIN list and in the GM Vehicle Inquiry System (GMVIS).
This service procedure provides instructions for re-routing the heated O2 Bank 2 sensor 2 wire harness away from the shift linkage rod. A wire harness clip, P/N 3827371, is required in order to complete the service procedure.
Caution: In order to avoid being burned, do not re-route the heated O2 sensor wire harness or work around the exhaust system while it is still hot. Perform service procedure when vehicle engine and exhaust system are not hot.
Important:
• Bank 2 on the 4.4L V8 (LC3) engine is the left side of the engine while sitting in the driver‘s seat. • Sensor 2 is the second sensor down stream from the engine towards the rear of the vehicle.
Important: Do NOT remove heated O2 bank 2 sensor 2 from exhaust pipe.
