Replacement Procedure

    Object Number: 1739947 Size: SH
  1. Remove the differential cooler. Refer to Differential Oil Cooler Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 1740547 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector for the differential cooler pump (1).
  3. Remove the hose from the differential cooler to the pump. Refer to Differential Oil Cooler Inlet Hose, Cooler Outlet Hose, and Pump Inlet Hose Replacement.
  4. Remove the mounting nuts for the pump (2).
  5. Remove the pump (3) from the carrier (4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1740547 Size: SH
  1. Position the pump (3) in the carrier (4).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the mounting nuts (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the hose from the differential cooler to the pump. Refer to Differential Oil Cooler Inlet Hose, Cooler Outlet Hose, and Pump Inlet Hose Replacement.
  4. Reconnect the electrical connector for the differential cooler pump (1).

    5. Object Number: 1739947 Size: SH
  5. Install the differential cooler. Refer to Differential Oil Cooler Replacement.
  6. Fill the differential. Refer to Axle Lubricant Change.
