Power Steering Pump Replacement LH2
Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement
.
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
- Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
Important: DO NOT try to remove the power steering pump nut from the power steering pressure hose. The power steering pump nut is a quick-connect fitting and once the power steering pressure hose is installed, the quick-connect
fitting cannot be removed. If a new power steering pressure hose is required for further repairs, then a new power steering pump nut will be required.
- Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump to engine mounting bolt.
- Remove the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump with bracket from the vehicle.
- Remove the power steering pump to power steering bracket. Refer to

Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump to power steering bracket. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement
.
- Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump to the engine mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
Important: Ensure the O-ring between the power steering fluid inlet hose fitting and the power steering pump is not cut or torn. Replace if needed before continuing the repair.
- Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the power steering pump.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb in).
- Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
- Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
- Install the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement

- Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to

- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding

Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to

- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to

- Place drain pans under the vehicle.
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering
pump.
Important: DO NOT try to remove the power steering pump nut from the power steering pressure hose. The power steering pump nut is a quick-connect fitting and once the power steering pressure hose is installed, the quick-connect
fitting cannot be removed. If a new power steering pressure hose is required for further repairs, then a new power steering pump nut will be required.
- Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering bracket to the engine mounting bolts (1, 2, and 3).
- Remove the power steering pump with bracket from the vehicle.
- Remove the power steering pump bracket from the power steering pump. Refer to

Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump to the power steering pump bracket. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement
.
- Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the power steering pump bracket to the engine mounting bolts (1, 2 and 3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
Important: Ensure the O-ring between the power steering fluid inlet hose fitting and the power steering pump is not cut or torn. Replace if needed before continuing the repair.
- Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the power steering pump.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
