Removal Procedure
Notice: DO NOT apply paint or clear coat to
the antenna. This will damage the function of the antenna, causing poor reception
or loss of signal reception.
- Remove the garnish moldings. Refer to
Body Side Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior Trim.
Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will
damage the headliner.
- Lower the rear of the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the digital radio antenna connectors (1).
- Remove the antenna bolt (2) and expansion sleeve (3).
Important: The retainer, located on the shaft of the
radio antenna, was designed for assembly plant operations to retain the digital antenna
to the roof before the bolt is installed. If the retainer on the radio antenna is
broken or damaged during service of the antenna, the antenna will still operate as
designed and should be reused.
- Squeeze the retainer (4), located on the shaft of the antenna near the
base, with a pair of pliers.
- Remove the digital radio antenna.
Installation Procedure
- Install the digital radio antenna to the
roof.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Route the wiring pigtail to the side in the slot on the antenna shaft and install
the antenna expansion sleeve (3) and bolt (2) to the antenna shaft.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Connect the antenna connectors (1).
- Install the antenna cable connection above the AM/FM antenna module.
- Install the antenna cable hold down clips.
- Align the headliner to the roof panel.
- Install the rear garnish moldings. Refer to
Body Side Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior Trim.
