Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Cover the sunload sensor assembly.
  2. Turn ON the courtesy lamps.
  3. Open and close the vanity mirror cover.

Did the vanity mirror lamps operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

  1. Place the interior lamp switch in the ON position.
  2. Open the vanity mirror.
  3. Remove the inoperative bulb from the vanity mirror lamp.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb and the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity lamp bulb.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Test the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit for a high resistance or open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the high resistance or an open in the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
