This PI was superseded to add the final repair procedure. Please discard PIT4395.


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

You may notice that the instrument panel cluster (IPC) is inoperative and the blue gauge needles are continuously flashing. This may occur after one of the following:

  1. Low Voltage Situation
  2. A Battery Disconnect/Reconnect Situation
  3. Programming being interrupted when SPS programming an IPC

Recommendation/Instructions:

If you experience this concern, please do not replace the IPC. A software calibration for the IPC was released on October 15, 2007 to resolve this concern. Please reprogram the IPC to permanently resolve this concern.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
