Some customers may comment on front fascia paint concerns on peeling and/or scratches.
Important: GM Engineering is only interested in vehicles located in California, Florida, Michigan and Texas.
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition. GM Engineering has a need to obtain information first hand during diagnosis and BEFORE repair. As a result, this information will be used by engineering to "root cause" the customer’s concern and develop/validate a field fix.
If a vehicle is encountered with the above concern, please do the following steps:
Contact Engineer Wayne Witkop at 586-492-9096, and E-mail pictures to [email protected] before repairing the vehicle. GM Engineering may visit dealerships that are near Detroit, Michigan. In either case you will receive a response back within 2 hours on what action to take the same day of your call (Eastern Daylight Time).
If you do not receive a response from engineering, then proceed to repair the vehicle.
If necessary, GM may make arrangements to have the old fascia shipped to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) based upon the information provided.
Important: Do NOT ship any parts to the WPC without a WPC request having been issued. WPC Requests will be sent for any parts that engineering wants to have returned.
For vehicles repaired under engineering direction, choose the appropriate labor operation that best describes the repair:
