The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may intermittently experience a message on the radio display that reads " Service Rear Camera System". The message lasts for 1-2 seconds and will usually occur when shifting from park to reverse or reverse to drive quickly. When the message appears, the rear camera systems seems to work ok
Recommendation/Instructions:
If you experience the concern, do not replace the radio. Engineering has identified a concern in the software and the repair is to reprogram the Navigation Radio. The new service calibrations were released with TIS satellite data update version 6.0 available May 30, 2006.
After programming, verify the HVAC and RCDLR functions. If HVAC and/or RCDLR do not function, cycle power to the modules - do not replace the modules.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
