A service calibration is being released to address any of the conditions in the following systems:
• | After the load button is pressed, the "Please Wait" display may time out after 1 minute and never displays "Insert Disc". The customer is unable to load the DVD disc. |
• | A Missing Empty Disc Changer popup screen occurs after ignition cycle. |
• | After canceling the DVDX load, two presses of the load button are required to load the disc. |
• | After playing track one of a CD, it will skip every other track. |
• | DVD changer will not eject the disc. |
• | Added New Feature -- added background scan of CDs with MP3 tracks for Music Navigator operation. |
• | Rear video screen is on after ignition cycle. After programming, it will be necessary to press the PLAY button before the DVD will begin. |
• | The RSE does not return to ON after ignition. |
• | The RSA display blanks out if the cluster has a warning message displayed. |
• | The RSA always returns to FM after an ignition cycle. After programming, the RSA will return to the last source active before ignition. |
• | After making an OnStar® call, the display does not return to the last active display. After programming, the display will return to the last active display prior to making an OnStar® call. |
• | OnStar® minimum volume increased. After programming the default volume will change from 12 db to 24 db. |
• | AM tuner seek level is too sensitive causing the radio to stop at too many stations with poor listening quality. |
• | XM audio is lost after ignition cycle. |
• | If Nav Split Screen mode was active, the radio will not return to this mode after ignition. |
• | Radio voice recognition was not always functioning after Voice Tag entry. |
• | Added New Feature -- GPS Antenna Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). After programming the radio will be able to detect open/short conditions of the GPS antenna. |
DO NOT REPLACE THE RADIO FOR ANY OF THE CONCERNS LISTED ABOVE.
Important:
• Be sure to scan for and note any DTCs prior to programming that may be associated with any other items on the repair order. • Make sure TIS and the Tech 2® are updated with the latest software. • Battery voltage is greater than 12 volts but less than 16 volts. The battery must be charged before programming if the battery voltage is low. • After programming is complete, be sure to check and clear any DTCs that may have set as a result of the programming.
Reprogram the Navigation Radio with the updated calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 6.0 available May 30, 2006.
After programming, verify the HVAC and RCDLR functions. If HVAC and/or RCDLR do not function, cycle power to the modules - do not replace the modules.
