Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Reading Low - keywords 6.2 gage indicator knock L92 message

Subject:Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Reading Low

Models:2007 Cadillac Escalade

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may report that the oil pressure gauge is reading low.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the customer concern is a oil pressure gauge reading low, compare the oil pressure reading to another 2007 6.2L equipped vehicle. The oil pressure gauge on a 2007 6.2L equipped vehicle may read lower then a previous model year vehicle that was equipped with a 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0L engine. Make sure the test vehicle is operated in the same conditions as the customer vehicle when the comparison is done. If the gauge is reading the same as a like vehicle do not attempt repairs.

If the Oil Pressure Low message is illuminated, and the oil pressure chime is activated, complete the current SI diagnostics for Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing. If engine mechanical repairs are needed, see Service Bulletin number 06-06-01-004 for the 6.2L L92 engine exchange.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
