THIS PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT INVOLVES VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY ONLY AND WILL EXPIRE ON JULY 31, 2006.
Purpose
This bulletin provides a service procedure to install a Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) Label on certain 2006 Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS vehicles, equipped with a 4.6L V8 (RPO LD8 - VIN Y) engine.
This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles currently in dealership inventory, but no later than July 31, 2006, at which time this bulletin will expire.
Vehicles Involved
The list of involved vehicles currently in dealer inventory is included in this bulletin.
Important: Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using GM Vehicle Inquiry System (GMVIS).

Parts Information
Important: The supply of VECI labels required to complete this field action will be pre-shipped to involved dealers of record. This pre-shipment is scheduled to begin May 26, 2006 and will be 100% of each dealer’s involved vehicles.
Service Procedure
- Open the hood and locate the existing Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label, which is attached to the underside of the hood.
- Clean the surface of the existing label.
- Install the new Vehicle Emission Control Information label directly over the existing label.
