Air Flow from Vents in Heat Mode - keywords airflow face foot HVAC

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Customers may observe some airflow coming from the instrument panel vents (FACE vents) while the control is set at heater (FOOT mode).

This is a normal condition. By design the FACE vents on the instrument panel will have a slight airflow (leakage) while in FOOT mode. If it is considered uncomfortable, the FACE vents may be closed using the adjacent thumbwheels.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
