INNER TIE ROD TO GEAR BOLT LOCK PLATE REPLACEMENT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 'N' & 'J' series Vehicles

The inner tie rod bolt lock plate has been changed from the tab type lock plate to a push on retainer type lock plate on 1985 'N' and 'J' models.

The new push on lock plate, part no. 7836778 must be replaced with a new one any time it is removed. Replacement is necessary as the plate may be damaged during removal and may not retain properly if reused. See Figure.

The new lock plate will be included with future packages of tie rods and centre take-off short gears.
